DUCT SEALING TACOMA – DUCT TESTING TACOMA

DUCT SEALING TACOMA

Sealing and insulating ducts can improve the efficiency of your heating and cooling system by as much as 20 percent — and sometimes much more!

Duct Repair and Sealing

Duct Repair and Duct Sealing

Ducts are used to move air to-and-from a forced air furnace, central air conditioner, or heat pump. Ducts are often times big energy wasters. In typical houses, about 20% or more of the air that moves through the duct system is lost due to leaks, holes, and poorly connected ducts. The result is an inefficient HVAC system, high utility bills, and difficulty keeping the house comfortable, no matter how the thermostat is set.
Hire a professional to perform duct sealing.

Because ducts are often concealed in walls, ceilings, attics, and basements, repairing them can be difficult. As a trained and certified HVAC contractor there are things we can do to improve duct performance in your house. We’ll start by sealing leaks using mastic sealant or metal (foil) tape and insulating all the ducts that you can access such as those in the attic, crawlspace, basement, or garage. We’ll also check to make sure that the connections at vents and registers are well-sealed where they meet the floors, walls, and ceiling. These are common locations to find leaks and disconnected ductwork.

Once we know that your duct work is up to code and performing efficiently we may recommend that you consider installing a high efficiency heating and cooling equipment.
If your HVAC equipment is more than 10 years old or not keeping your house comfortable, have it evaluated by one of our trained and certified technicians. If it is not performing efficiently or needs upgrading, consider replacing it with a unit that has earned the ENERGY STAR high efficiency furnaces, heat pumps or air conditioners. Depending on where you live, replacing your old heating and cooling equipment with a high efficiency furnace, heat pump, or AC unit can cut your annual energy bill by nearly $200. But before you invest in a new HVAC system, lets make sure we have addressed the big air leaks in your house and the duct system. Sometimes, these are the real sources of problems rather than your HVAC equipment.
